Fat is a Dirty Word!!

In caring for Women,one quickly learns that “Fat” is a dirty word!it should not be used,heard or even be a part of polite conversation.Howeverit is usually at the forefront of most women’s minds.As a result,there is a mind boggling array of medical,surgical and commercial solutions designed and sold to women who are hoping to attain their desired weight.Most of these are unsuccessful but the drive of women hoping to be thinner and sexier makes them quick-fix solutions more alluring.So are women simply doomed to gain weight?Not if one understands why!In order to lose weight ,one must first understand why one has gained it.There a number of factors.Firstlywhere is she in her life cycle?The reasons for weight gain vary according to her age,as does her ability to lose it.Is she chubby teenager?A plump twnty-something ?A new mother  who could never get rid of the extra weight after having children?A forty plus woman,approaching meno-pause,and gainng weight around the waist?A fifty-something,post-menopausal lady who keeps gaining weight and cannot lose it no matter what she does?
Many women starve themselves,to no avail.Others are told to exercise,yet cannot because they lack the energy.Some women exercise despite a total lack of energy,with no improvement.Many starve themselves and exercise endlessly,with no relief from the poundage.Despair reigns triumphant when no precious weight loss is achieved,despite tryin out every diet plan and helth book that crosses her path.
Often she surrenders heading for the buffet sighing:”I might as well enjoy myself,if I am going to br F**!”
Enough teasing,so what is the answer?The answer is simple,yet complex.The old wisdom remains correct.One has to exercise,and more aggressively to lose more weight.One has to eat nutritiously:low fat protein,vegetables and fruit,avoiding processed or refined foods and drinks.One has to avoid or actively decrease stress.Finally,one has to measure the body’s hormonal stutus through blood tests.If the hormone levels are inadequate,all the effort with nutrition,exercise and stress management is in vain.

Hormones are chemicals,produced naturally by our bodies that control the body’s function such as metabolism regulation and energy production.The chubby teenager may lack thyroid hormone(hypothyroid) whilst the twenty-something may be on birth control pillwhich are affecting her harmones and making her gain weight.The young mother may be hypothyroid and a little low in progesterone.Older women are often deficient in thyroid ,estrogen,progesterone and testosterone,as their entire range of hormones declines with age.The levels are evaluated using simple blood tests.How do we replace hormones that our bodies are not producing in adequate amounts?The replacement hormones are made from plant hormones,which are modified chemically to be identical to our hormones.They are either replaced as creams or taken by mouth.So the answer to thee age-old riddle of weight loss is good nutritionadequate exercise,stress control & bio-identical hormonr replacement.Simple, yet complex.
